Meet Our Team – Q&A with Roslyn Knight
We speak with one of our Sales Team, Roslyn Knight, about her career at Chapman Property and a few tips for investments and current market trends.
As a Real estate agent there is no typical day, each day is different. The job depends on the ability to accept changes, juggling appointments, and office duties. Days are filled with prospecting for new listings by talking to the database and present buyers. Doing inspections on existing listings, responding to emails, data entry and researching active, pending and sold properties.
The reason I am an agent is the satisfaction of helping people move on and to look at different properties to see their past and what other people have previously done to make it their home.

Did you know that Chapman Property have been active in Newcastle since 1971?
Some common mistakes buyers make are, not doing enough research on the neighbourhood; they are not just buying a home but they are also buying a location and a lifestyle.
Also looking at property outside their budget and panic buying.
When looking for an investment property, a buyer needs to know if they are looking for capital growth or pure rental return; these are very different purchases.
Also, to buy a property they would live in and remember to consider possible interest rate rises in the future.
The market is now softening due to the Royal Commission into bank lending, this has reduced the amount of lending capacity individuals can borrow. Particularly investors, giving the first home buyers a great opportunity to enter the market.
